Zums told me that he's ready to become handy, so I put him to work this weekend. We had to get a lawnmower, as our lawn hadn't been mowed since our closing. With all the rain we've been getting - over 5 inches this month! - it needed a good trimming. We got the drapes hung in the study and in our bedroom. I am loving the 'Texas' orange silk curtains in our bedroom! In other house news - the painters finished up their corrections this weekend, the drape fabric for the living room has been ordered and should be here in 2 weeks, our recycle bucket arrived and it's entirely too small to be picked up every other week. It was a glorious sunshined weekend, and we got in some good tanning time at the pool yesterday and took a walk to the reservoir this morning. 4 days and counting til San Diego for the 4th!

Night at the Wine Experience
All moved in!
Yea!!! We have space! We have drawers! We have an office! We have double sinks! All the things we have been longing for are now part of our everyday life in the new house. The furniture is in, and now the decorating and making a home begins. Here are a few photos...still in the very early/rough stages as there are drapes to be hung, pictures to be framed, artwork to be bought and creative energy to be tapped in to. We are officially open for visitors!

Officially homeowners!
We closed on our new house this afternoon! Finally, we are entering the world of 'adult living'! The painters began this afternoon, adding some much needed color to the white walls. We'll officially move in on Saturday when the delivery of furniture begins. So, the project begins of building a true home for us! Here is a drawing of the new home, and I promise many more 'real' ones to come!

Viva Las Vegas
Summer got off to a great start as we headed to Las Vegas for Memorial Weekend. We stayed at Planet Hollywood and loved it! Friday night we had an amazing 7 course meal - with 7 course wine tasting - at Aureole in Mandalay Bay. Lots of pool time on Saturday and Tacos 'n' Tequila at the Luxor that night. Sunday we hit the buffet at Planet Hollywood and unfortunately found out that it was unlimited $3 mimosas when we got our check...all along we thought they were $3 each, so we just had 2 each. Why didn't someone tell us!?!? We saw PeepShow on Sunday night with Mel B and Kelly Monaco in it. Great production. Overall, lots of poolside cocktails, some fine dining, learned craps and lost $$$ and soaked up lots of sun!
